NYCASADONUT
Long
ago, on a very interesting trip with my parents back to my dad's
college in NJ, and when I had first heard of QTVR, I took this series
of photos. In all actuality, it is a panoramic series that I took
simply by snapping a shot, and turning in place, trying to keep
the camera at relatively the same height for all of the pictures
all the way around. Very archaic means, I know. But its all I had,
and with an analog camera, too. So after I got the pix developed,
I scanned them in and stitched them together by hand in Photoshop.
Then, in what had to have been the most painstaking process ever,
I sliced the whole photo up into 36 little rectangular slices, perspectively
warped them so they were pie/wedge shaped and reassembled them into
this photo, then I just cropped it down to a round edge. And what
I was left with was this photo. It would be fantastic if I had a
higher res version, but this is pretty much it. I still love it
though, if for only the process and how much love I put into it.
I could easily redo it now with a 3D texture, but it wouldn't have
the same effect I don't think.
