Reaching Toward the Heavens

There are so very many reasons why I love this photo. Not least of all was that I took it on my way back after seeing Laura for the first time in a long time, and had a really great time with her. But I just love the color and the lines in this photo, coupled with the contrast of light and dark, corporate and religious, old and new, handmade and machined. And the underlying idea that churches were built 'tall' to reach towards the heavens, yet the skyscraper behind it fades into the fog, towering far above the church. It's ironic and beautiful and just a fantastic photo.
